Sick Children
Parents are required by the Department of Social Services to inform the center within 24 hours or the next business day after the child or any member of the immediate household develop any reportable communicable disease as defined by the State Board of Health.
If your child becomes sick while in our care, we will call you to pick them up immediately. We do this for your child’s benefit, as well as the benefit of other children and staff.
No medications will be distributed by staff.
Children must be symptom free for 24 hours.
Snacks and Lunches
Peanut products are not permitted in Child Care or Kid’s Club.
Snacks are provided twice a day, one mid-morning and once in the afternoon.
Lunch is not provided. Please purchase lunch through our Café or pack a lunch for your child if they will be with us during the midday hour. All food containers, lunchboxes, cups should be clearly labeled with your child’s name.
Inclement Weather Policy
When the Albemarle County Schools are closed or opening is delayed, Child Care will open at 10:30 a.m.
Call 244-2430 after 9:00 a.m. for information on updates to Child Care hours after 10:30 a.m.
