Pool Policy Information

As the primary caretaker, parents are responsible for the safety and well being of their children while they are in the water.   Our aquatics staff attends inservice training on preventative lifeguarding procedures, water rescue, Boar’s Head Emergency Procedures, and have certifications in Lifesaving, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and in the use of the Automated External Defibrillator.   Our staff’s responsibility is to maintain a safe environment and to offer professional support in the case of an emergency.

The watchful eye of the parent is required, especially for non-swimmers and children who have recently learned how to swim.

Policies

To ensure everyone’s safety, Sports Club staff reserves the right to take immediate action to remedy any situation considered to be unsafe or disorderly.  It is up to the discretion of the Sports Club staff to determine what constitutes unsafe or disorderly conduct.   Repeated serious infringements may result in dismissal from the pool.

  1. Children ages 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for that child. The only exception to this rule applies to children enrolled in any of the Sport Club’s programs and families who qualify for the Family Supervision Agreement.
  2. A child who is a non-swimmer must be accompanied by an adult while in the water, whether or not the child is wearing a life vest.
  3. For the safety of all children, personal flotation devices are prohibited in the pool unless they are United Laboratory (U.L.) or U.S. Coast Guard approved Type II and the child is accompanied in the water by a responsible adult. We encourage teaching children to be water safe without flotation devices. A person who can turn face-up and kick to the side is considered “water safe”.
  4. Diving into the pools is prohibited. Diving off of and/or sitting on a person’s shoulders in the pools is also prohibited.
  5. The baby pool is restricted to children under 5 years of age.
  6. Only approved swimming diapers are permitted in the pools. We ask parents of children wearing diapers to restrict their children to the baby pool or round pool.
  7. Children may be asked to pass a swimming test to be in the deep end.
  8. Absolutely no glass products are permitted in the pool area. Please help keep the pool area clean and safe by placing all refuse in the containers provided.
  9. Please do not run within the pool area. Horseplay – including pushing or throwing people into the pool – is not permitted. The lifeguards may restrict any play activity that they feel is unsafe.
  10. Tennis balls are not permitted in the pool or pool area.
  11. Please report all accidents, no matter how small, to a lifeguard immediately.
  12. No dogs or other pets are allowed at the pool.
