Staff Bios
James Neiderer, Club Manager
James comes to Charlottesville from San Francisco, where he worked as the General Manager of the esteemed San Francisco Tennis Club (SFTC). While there, Neiderer managed all club operations, human resources, and sales and marketing initiatives for the ClubCorp property.
Prior to this experience, James served as the membership director for SFTC as well as the ClubCorp-owned Crow Canyon Country Club. Before joining ClubCorp, James served as the Marketing and Events Manager at Humewood Castle, a four-star resort and sporting estate in Co. Wicklow, Irleand. He also boasts an extensive marketing and public relations background thanks to his seven years of international account leadership experience in a variety of fields including hospitality, tourism and technology.

Spencer Doyle, Assistant Club Manager
Spencer joined the Boar's Head Team in May of 2005 as the Operations Manager. As a graduate of Texas A&M University, he received his BS in Recreation, Park and Tourism Science. After graduating he spent two years as an Aquatics Coordinator for the City of Plano, TX. From there he moved on to become the Aquatic Supervisor for the Town of Blacksburg Parks and Recreation Department before moving to Charlottesville.

Ron Manilla, Director of Racquet Sports
Ron is a PTR certified professional with 30 years coaching and teaching experience. Ron is a board member of the “Charlottesville Tennis Patrons”, Director of the “Get Acquainted Tennis Club”, and is on Head/ Penn advisory staff. “Ron has been a major force behind the growth of tennis in the Charlottesville area”-Dennis Van der Meer (World renowned tennis coach and founder and President of the PTR).
Phyllis Ellerman, Fitness Director
Phyllis is our Fitness Director and an Exercise Physiologist. She received her bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Maryland with a dual major in Marketing and Finance. Phyllis obtained her master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Virginia, with coursework in cardiac rehabilitation, adult fitness, athletic injuries, pharmacology, physiology, and metabolic adaptations to exercise. She has experience training all age groups and fitness levels from sports conditioning to seniors to neuromuscular disorders to post-rehab and cardiac rehab. She is a certified strength and conditioning specialist, a certified aerobics instructor, as well as a STOTT PILATES* certified instructor.

Alexandra Edeleanu, Membership Director
Alexandra joins us from her post as Assistant Manager of The Colonnade Club, U.Va’s Faculty Club. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Ms. Edeleanu graduated from The University of Virginia with a degree in English and Government. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors—swimming, running, playing kickball, and is excited to brush up on her tennis!

Rob Elmore, Recreation Manager
Kathy Parker, Club Controller
Stacy Hosenfeld , Aquatic and Winter Events Coordinator
Stacy just recently graduated from Florida State University with both her M.S. and B.S. in Recreation and Leisure Services Administration. She has worked in aquatics since 2000, including most recently as a Red Cross instructor and Waterfront Coordinator at the FSU Reservation. She has also worked for Reston Association in a variety of managerial roles, and completed an internship with the U.S. Navy's MWR Aquatics in Yokosuka, Japan in fall 2006. When not around the pool, she enjoys white water rafting, sea kayaking and working on her photography skills.

Bret Garrison, Assistant Operations Manager
Bret joined the Boar’s Head Sports Club in March ’06 as Assistant Operations Manager. Bret graduated from Evangel University in Springfield, Mo with a B.S. in Recreation Management and a minor in Physical Education. At Evangel he played on the varsity baseball team. After graduation he did a four month internship at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, MO. There he worked in the recreation department dealing mostly with Marina, Golf, and Waterpark Operations. He was then a Site Director for the City of Springfield Parks & Recreation Department. In this role he oversaw an after school program “C.L.I.C.K” that provided a safe learning and recreation environment for underprivileged youth. He held this role until joining the BHSC team in 2006.
